Look at what came in the post for me!

This is my beautiful sweater that was lovingly made for me by Jenny Grubb. She lives in Scotland and is a long time family friend of Nana and Granddad Williamson. She used to take care of my daddy when he was my size! I really like the sweater that she made for me. It's a bit big for me just now but it will be perfect for this autumn. Thank you so much Jenny, you'll have to come out and visit me soon!

My first outing!

Saturday afternoon we took the family on a drive up to Eagle Mountain and around Utah Lake. We had a nice long scenic drive and Sarah Genevieve slept through the WHOLE thing! We dressed her up all snuggly, daddy packed her in her car seat and we were off. It was so nice to get out of the house for a bit :)

This little girl is so loved! We've gone a bit picture crazy trying to capture every sweet moment of these first few days.

My first week home!

It has been a fun and busy week with a newborn baby! Baths, naps, lots of diaper and clothing changes but Owen and I are learning quick. It has been so nice to have Grandma Donelle here to help and teach us the ropes. We've somehow managed to only have one bad night's sleep this week. Sarah Genevieve has been sleeping in 3-4, sometimes 5 hour blocks, which has been fantastic! We couldn't have asked for a sweeter, more mild mannered or better sleeping baby! This little one is such a blessing.

Sarah Genevieve has arrived

So the little one that we have been so anxious to meet has finally arrived. Her name is Sarah Genevieve and she was born weighing 7lbs and 2oz at 18''. It took Stacey 23 and a half hours of active labor to bring little Vieve out into the world. The labor itself was very hard though Stacey didn't have to push for too long. Sarah Genevieve arrived in the early hours of the morning and was in full voice as soon as she had air to breathe.
As you can see from the pictures she has her mother's nose and cheeks, and daddy's mouth and eyes. The first picture shows her at about 20 minutes old, still looking a bit swollen from being delivered.
the second picture shows little Sarah Vieve being held by dad only a few moments later. As you can tell Stacey looks really good for just having had a baby. The other person in the picture is the nurse who was with us for most of the night and helped little Sarah into the world, along with her father and the doctor.
The third picture shows Stacey getting her first chance to hold our daughter. A precious moment for Stacey and one that had been a long time in coming. The fourth shows little Vieve in some of her hospital clothing with the bows that were given her after her bath in the nursery.
The last photo is one of Dad holding little Vieve in the recovery room. At this point Sarah Genevieve is still less than a day old.

The 38 1/2 week tummy and things are starting to happen! Back ache, contractions, and lots of pressure...this baby is on her way! Don't worry family, she's not coming today and we'll let you know when things get serious. This is just all the pre labor stuff!

Owen and I came up with a great cheap date idea on Friday night! We walked down to our local grocery store, bought a bag of marshmallows, a box of graham crackers, and a small bundle of wood and we made s'mores! We had so much fun sitting on the front porch huddled close around the BBQ. Our neighbors might have thought we were a but nutty but we had the best time ever on $4!

12 DAYS TO GO!!

The Braxston-Hicks have started, she's dropped down low, still one centimeter dilated, 75% effaced! It could be any day now...we're walking everywhere, I'm eating spicy food, anything to get regular contractions starting!!

Wintery Provo

Just another wintry scene from outside our home here in Provo. This is the result of a storm coming every week since December. While there is a bit of melt between storms and light snow showers there has always been another storm to keep Provo so picturesque.

Aside from the aesthetic aftermath of these storms there is an additional benefit for Stacey and I. The changes in atmospheric pressure seem to have the effect of encouraging expectant mothers to go into labor. So hopefully this means that little baby Williamson will be here in the near future.
