Alright Already

Inhale...Exhale...

Okay, well we made it through a really busy month. Here's the update, pictures and video will soon follow...

Owen- Owen is enjoying his new job and fortunately works 9amish-5pmish which gives him some time in the morning to study for the LSAT and time in the evening to spend with the family. He takes the LSAT this Saturday! Please remember him in your prayers. We are so excited about this new direction for our family and a lot is riding on this exam. I know he'll do great! Owen's parents arrived in town last Thursday and we are really enjoying their company. Ivan and Kim are just great and it's been so fun to spend time with them. Owen has found the will to go on after dipping into the chocolatey treats they brought with them from the UK. He is still working on this thesis and will have it finished by December. He LOVES playing with Sarah and is really good at getting her to laugh those big belly laughs. They make up their own games together, it's so much fun to see them play. Sarah is definitely a daddy's girl.

Stacey- I just open my biggest show this year (see the previous post). That was huge for me, but it's up and running now and I can take a breath. I've started work on Christmas Carol, which opens on the 28th of November. I'm cutting hair occasionally but am trying to take some time off. I've been making most of Sarah's baby food which is fun. I buy organic fruits and veggies, steam and puree them. I'm trying to do better at keeping the house clean...now that I have some time things are looking better...just don't come over today :)

Sarah- Sarah is GROWING! Finally! She is now out of her size 1-2 diapers and is in size 2. She is in all her 6-9 month clothes, and some of her 6's don't fit anymore. She is still a skinny minny, she's just really long. She's now 13 1/2 pounds and is 26 inches. Her favorite foods are vanilla yogurt, pears and cantelope. Everybody at the theater LOVES her, which makes this really easy for me at work. Sometimes I have to hunt to find her and get her back! She's a little fish. She loves the bath and dunking her head under...we really have to watch her! She's rolling around like crazy and will be crawling any day now. She sits up on her own really well now and has a love of sucking on her toes...no more nail polish :(

Now that life is slightly less stressful, we will make a better effort to blog more. Thank you to everyone who keeps up with our family blog and harasses us to update more...just kidding, but really, thank you!

Come see Aida

This has been my biggest show this season but it has been worth all the hard work. This is a beautiful show, I am so proud of it. Check it out at the Hale Center Theater Orem opening September 23rd.

I don't make this stuff up...

So...yesterday my little Vieve had some peas, yellow squash and rice for lunch. She went down for a nap and about 45 minutes later was up and ready to play. We were in the living room playing on the floor and as I picked her up over my head she threw up. Now she didn't just throw up ON me, she threw up IN my eyes. The last thing I saw was a pale green goo coming at me and I didn't even have time to close my eyes. Yes, it stung. It was warm, squishy...absolutely disgusting. That's my princess!

End of Summer

Well, it's September and in Provo that means summer is officially over. Swim lessons have ended, our good friends the Brown's moved away, my huge show this season opens, Owen got a new job, my brother and sister-in-law are having a baby this month, Owen's sister is having a baby this month, my dad is turning a year older, our family from Scotland is coming to visit...time to get serious, get work, our lazy summer days are over.

But we are so excited about all the fun stuff happening this month. Taylor and Joy are going to surprise us with a niece or nephew, name to be announced after the birth. Ruth and Robert are having a little girl this fall. And we are so excited for Granddad to meet his granddaughter Sarah for the first time! Ivan and Kim are coming to see us for a few weeks and we are all so excited to have them here with us.

We're sad to see the summer gone but there is lots to do this fall. It's starting to cool down so we can finally sleep with the windows open at night, which we love...and maybe some day we'll live far enough away from the train so we can't hear it at night. We've enjoyed another fun summer in Provo and are bracing ourselves for the snow to come in a few months.

The One Hair

Some of our friends and family know that Sarah was born with very little hair. It was kind of a darkish-medium brown, but lightened up a bit as the months went by. Around three months we noticed that she had one strand of hair significantly longer than the rest. I affectionately named it "the baby hair". As the rest of her hair grew in the baby hair continued to grow out and I would proudly show it to anyone we met. During one visit my mother jokingly said she was going to cut it off when I was out and I begged her not to. I loved that hair.

Well, it broke my heart to see, but last week the baby hair fell out. I even had thoughts of pulling it out myself and scrapbooking it or something but then the thought of Sarah as a teenager came to me saying "Eww mom, that's gross"...so I decided not to. So, now it's gone to wherever it is hair goes when it falls out, in the vacuum, in a bird's nest, blowing the the breeze somewhere. I really did love that hair.

After having a talk about it with Owen, I think the reason why I loved that hair so much as weird as it is was because I knew one day it would fall out. One day Sarah will move out, go to college, go wherever the blowing breeze takes her and she won't be my little baby anymore. I'm trying harder to love every minute of every day with her, soaking up these precious moments when she is small so I can live out my life till I'm a little old bitty and reminisce with Owen about those early months of life as parents to our beautiful Sarah Genevieve.
