Our Brave Little Girl!

Today was the day and everything went really well. Owen got up at 5:30am to get things ready I got up with Sarahvieve soon after and french braided her hair. They left by 6, checked in at 6:30, proceedure started at 7 and they were home by 9:30am. She did a great job, stayed really happy about things. Enjoyed talking to Dr. Keyes and the nurses. Best part was the red popcicle in recovery, and I'm sure spending the time with Owen. When I asked who she wanted to take her she said she wanted dad. Well, in fact she said "I want my dad to take me, he's more brave than you!" She's right. Funniest part of the day was when she and Owen got home. I met them at the door and Sarahvieve stumbled into the house tripping on her way in. Owen mentions she's still a bit loopy from the sedative. I ask her how the hospital was and she says, "It was WOOONDERFUL!" And then promptly throws herself on the sofa. Hehe! We love you Vivi and hope this helps your ears feel better!!

Can you hear me now?

So as some of our friends and family have heard Sarahvieve is caught up in a vicious cycle of ear infections, antibiotics and gut/digestion/allergy issues. Well last week we met with a *top of his field and very progressive* ENT (ears, nose and throat Dr) and together we put all the pieces together and hopefully have a successful solution to SG's problems.

2 weeks ago, and off and on in the past almost 4 years, we notice that Sarahvieve has a hard time hearing us. We sometimes felt it was just her age and she was exerting her newly discovered free will to ignore her parents but this last time, I knew it was something more. During the little kids nap time, she and I sat down and played a game...well, I called it a game and she thought it was a game. I would say a color and she would repeat what I said. I used varying degrees of volume and that's how I found out for sure that yes indeed she really could not hear everything I was saying. At one point during our game, Owen from across the room says to me, wow I heard that, after SG had asked, what did you say? Poor girl.

Well our answer for now is TUBES. She goes in January 31st for surgery (sorry auntie KK, kind of a depressing birthday present). While she is under, they are going to take blood to run a full work up for food allergies. I'll start from there with food challenges to isolate the source of the problem. SO, this is really good news for her and all of us. We're hoping and praying this is the answer to the problems we've been having and I'm confident that with the addition of tubes and a change in her diet she will be a much happier and healthier little girl!

I think the pictures say it all...everyone needs to dress up, all the time! I think I need to be faster at hanging up the dresses after church :)

OCD SG?

Sarah Vieve loves helping me fold laundry and she's actually REALLY good at it! She was really bummed when she came to ask if she could help and I told her I was already finished. Well, my version of finished. I don't know why but I hate pairing/folding socks. So I told Sarah that she could do the socks if she wanted....and this was what I got. Wow, good work SG. A little OCD but wow, well done! I'm never doing the socks again, well, until she goes to college :)

Easter Dressies!

That's what the girls call them anyway "dressies". Thank you Grammy for such gorgeous Easter outfits!! They LOVED them and were both very sad when it was time to change into play clothes :)

Happy Birthday Sarah Genevieve!

Happy 3rd Birthday sweet girl! We love you SO much and are so very thankful to have you in our family. You are incredibly funny and bright. We have so much fun together. We are excited to help you grow and learn and see the amazing and talented person you will be!

These early years were pretty tough for a variety of reasons but one of the continuing joys throughout that time was our Sarah Vieve. Always ready to laugh, with a hint of mischief in every twinkle of your eye. It was a constant pleasure to see you learn and grow so much.

not up to much

If it seems as though we've dissapeared for a few weeks, well we have. The girls get sick, get well, get sick again. Frustrating. Owen and i have avoided illness but so many of the girls friends have been sick with one thing or another and things just keep getting passed around. So, we're quarantined. I'm putting the girls on house arrest until they are 100% well, i'm not taking any more chances. Sick kids=no fun

On a lighter note SG got a new haircut! I cut all the straggly baby hair ends off and she now has a super cute bob. She totally rocks it. She is still her sassy, silly, goofy, mischeivious self so it really suits her. Love that girl.

2010 Review

So a friend of mine did this on her blog and I thought it was a really good idea. A way to wrap up 2010 and begin a new year. So here are the Williamson's highlights from 2010. (kind of in chronological order)


1. Sarah Genevieve turned 2 and was potty trained
2. Had a great visit from Grammy and Grampy (my dad and stepmom)
3. Cecily turned 1
4. Sarah Vieve had a near death experience in our backyard swimming pool
5. We, as a family, started a very successful wheat and corn free diet
6. I left my job at the Hale Center Theater in Orem, I had been commuting :) This was really my dream job and I loved every minute of it
7. We moved from Henderson NV, where we were living with my mom, to Norfolk VA and we love it here
8. Owen started his PhD in International Studies at Old Dominion University
9. Enjoyed a fun visit from Nana and Granddad (Owen's parents in Scotland)
10. I lost 25 pounds of baby weight, that's after having both girls pretty much back to back
11. I became officially a stay a home mom and love it
12. Owen was an intern at the Joint Forces Staff College for a semester, really cool
13. Owen and I were called to be Ward Missionaries, busiest calling of my life!
14. Owen turned 30
15. I started a store on etsy- www.etsy.violetvaila.com
16. Owen applied for citizenship
17. My mom got remarried in the Las Vegas Temple the SAME day Owen's brother DJ got married in the Preston Temple, welcome to the family Dennis and Kirsty!
18. I turned 30
19. We had a really nice Christmas and New Years
20. I was called to be the Young Womens 2nd counselor in our ward, and still a ward missionary, wish me luck...

And are so excited for the things coming up in 2011! Citizenship, Owen's career job, enjoying our incredible girls and amazing family!!

2010 had a lot of ups and downs and we are looking forward to a lot more ups in 2011
