The Season to Celebrate

Owen, Sarah and I had a wonderful Christmas in our new home in Springville. We managed to hide most of the boxes so we felt a bit more moved in for the holidays. It will still take some time to get everything organized. My mom has been a lifesaver, babysitting, helping move, arranging things in the new house. It's been great to have her here.

Katherine, my sister, her boyfriend and my mom were all here with us Christmas day. We had a great time exchanging gifts and most of all watching and helping Sarah open her presents. We had our Christmas "Roast Beast" done by my mom which was fabulous! And it wouldn't be Christmas in our house without a birthday cake for Jesus.

Owen and I celebrated our anniversary yesterday. We had a nice quite day with our family and played a few rounds of our new favorite game Carcasonne, game night anyone?

We have so much to be thankful for this year, especially good friends. We love our new home but miss our ward friends so much! Good thing we don't live too far away! We're planning a housewarming party...once all the boxes are unpacked we will have everyone over!

We hope everyone had a great Christmas and enjoys the New Year!

It's a GIRL!!!! I'm am absolutely shocked! I really thought it was going to be a boy, this pregnancy has been totally different than Sarah's so I was convinced we were having a boy. But to our surprise and total excitement we have a little girl on the way. Secretly I was really wanting another girl because she and Sarah will be so close in age so we are just thrilled! We do already have her name picked out but I'm not going to post it because I think that's weird seeing how she's not even here yet, but if you ask me I'll tell you :)

WE MOVED!!!

We're really sorry to all of our friends/family that this will come as a shock to...we moved to Springville on Saturday! We LOVE our new house! We have SO much more space and this was a very last minute decision (who in their right mind would move the week of Christmas...except my mom :)) We decided that I needed space to work from home, room for the kids to run around and we were also ready to move out of Provo. We've loved the last 2 1/2 years there but we're ready for our growing family to move on (well, we live in north Springville which is JUST outside Provo, but that means Owen can still get to campus easily).

Owen finished his Master's this semester at BYU, YAY!!! We're so happy his thesis is done. He spent so much time and effort on it and he is really pleased with the work he accomplished.

I'm having an ultrasound TODAY! So I'll post later today if we have gender results :)

We hope everyone has a great week and enjoys Christmas!

ps-we'll put our new address in our family Christmas email :)

Apples to Elephants

So we went over to our good friends home, the Swensens, last night for the coolest game ever. If you've never done this before it's a great, cheap and hilarious way to have a party.

The game is called Apples to Elephants, basically the Apples to Apples game, but whoever wins the hand gets to draw a white elephant gift from the pile that everyone brings wrapped. We had a TON of presents to open, all of which was pretty much just junk, but it was the funniest thing ever.

We came home with...a light up toilet seat cover, hand soap, hemorrhoid cream (used), a box of candy canes in a weird flavor, and other little trinkets.

We left behind...a gas can, a fly swatter, a copy of Owen's thesis (that was funny), some old copies of new member discussions in Zulu, a pregnancy test, old nail polish, a goofy looking picture frame and a ton of other stuff from around the house.

A fun night was had by all! Thanks Swensen's, Hill's, Amanda, Bobby and Erin!

On the record

So being in the industry I'm in it's somewhat necessary to have at least one finger on the pulse of the entertainment world. Well I've decided to take a side and I don't care who knows...

I HATE TWILIGHT!!!! The books, the movie, Stephanie Meyer, whatever. I think it's stupid. And I just laugh when people get in deep, serious conversations about it. Come on people...sparkling vampires?? (this is just my personal opinion, some of my good friends love it, and I love them...it's just not for me)

I also HATE Vicki on the Biggest Loser!!!!! She's mean, rude and just has come across like a horrible person on the show. My mom tells me to consider that it might just be the editing of the show and the "character" they want her to be, but I still don't like her. Go Michelle!!! p.s.- I voted for Ed because I don't really like Heba either and I think Michelle will have a better chance at winning if Ed stays, because he doesn't really want it, he's just there for his wife.

wheww...just had to get that off my chest

It's time...

Well alright, I guess it's time to come out with it already...Owen and I are expecting our second child this summer, the first week of June. I'm in my second trimester now so I figured it was time to share our exciting news. I've scheduled my ultrasound to check the gender and we actually get to have it done on the 23rd so we are going to have the lady write down boy or girl on a card, and not tell us, so we can wrap it up and open it Christmas morning! I fully anticipate life being crazy busy with two little ones but I love being a mom, Owen loves being a dad and we are so excited for this little person to join our family :)
