Citizenship

As of toady March 29th 2011 at 11:30am, Owen Williamson is officially a citizen of the United States of America! The ceremony was at the Norfolk County Courthouse and it was really nice. Everyone got to stand, say their name and what country they were from. There were people from all over the world. Owen was one of 87 people today that took the Oath of Alligence in Norfolk. We are so excited for the future of our family from here on out, so many more opportunities are available to us now. While Owen may be a citizen of the US now, he will always be my tall, redheaded Scotsman! Love you sweetie!

We were lucky enough to have some friends join us today from Williamsburg! Thank you Jeff, Melynda, Matthew and Luke, for taking time out of school and your day to be with us. After the ceremony we went to Doumar's for lunch. Doumar's has been featured on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" and was fitting for Owen's first meal as a American to be a cheeseburger, fries and root beer :) Thank you for sharing this day with us Fitt's!

(I'm going to convince Owen to post a few words himself about this process...it may be the only "journal" entry this gets...he's not good about writing down the happenings and important events. It would be good for him, not to mention posterity!)

the big day!

tomorrow owen has his interview and exam at the immigration office here in norfolk!! this day has been on our minds for YEARS now and we are so excited that its now so close! this is almost the last step before citizenship and there is a small chance that he will be offered it tomorrow in the office, which is what we're really hoping and praying for. if he is not offered it on the spot (can be but not very usual) he will be sent notification in the mail as to when to appear for his oath of alliegence ceremony. it has taken years of planning, lawyers, money, forms and signatures to get to this point and we are so close to the finish line! please keep us in your thoughts tomorrow, its going to be a really exciting day!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

We hope that you are having a wonderful day, that Santa and loved ones have been kind.

We also wanted to remind one and all of the gift that Christ gave. His willingness to transcend below all things allows us the opportunity of enjoying one another's company for time and eternity. We can live lives full of eternal meaning and with abundant joy.

We love our family and friends so dearly, and wish you the best of the season. More than that we hope you find an ever deeper and more meaningful relationship with our Savior. It is his desire to be able to enfold you in the arms of his love and assist you in realizing your dreams.

happy birthday owen!

owen turned 30 on saturday! we had an amazing day and incredible food. i made some killer gluten free cupcakes and we went out for the best indian food we have ever had (and we LOVE indian). one of the gifts owen got was a gamed called dominion (thank you taylor and joy for introducing it to us!) and we have been playing it nonstop, so fun! happy birthday sweetheart! love you
