It's Potty Time!

You heard right, we are potty training! Well, trying. Sarah is doing great, it's me that's having a harder time. I knew it was time when...Sarah was constantly taking her clothes off and playing "pretend" diaper changing with her stuffed animals, so cute, now she plays potty training :)

So this is where we are now, Sarah wears undies all day, diapers at naptime and at night. She still has accidents some days, but is dry almost all the time

Stacey's potty training tips-
(this is just my opinion, I've never done this before, this is what is working for us)
-We don't use pull ups...I tried and she just thought it was a diaper. In underwear she knows she is really wet and understands better when I tell her to go on the potty next time.
-No trousers, just undies. Because she can see her underwear she remembers better to keep them dry.
-We still do a reward...a mini chocolate chip or cookie, gummy bear, etc. I had to find a treat she REALLY liked!
-She has undies she REALLY likes too, Elmo of course :)
-THIS VIDEO! I found it on YouTube and we watch it a few times a day to keep things going. It does help that it is Sarah's favorite friend but it's worked wonders for us!

I say I'm having a harder time because she does best with reminders and as we all know all too well, life is busy and I forget to remind her sometimes. If I stick with the routine Sarah does great, I just need to stick with it and eventually she will be going on her own! I will say though, it is a lot easier to remind her to pee than it is to change a diaper. I've changed a TON of diapers in the last two years and I'm looking forward to only one little girl in diapers :)

Our routine consists of, giving her a reminder, (watching the Elmo video, sometimes), getting out the treat, she goes on the potty, wipe, clothes back on, wash hands with her special soap, and then the treat! If I can just stick with it, she'll do great! Wish me luck :)

Uncle Danny!

Owen's brother Danny (younger than Owen but older than DJ, the brother that most of you have met) came to visit us for Christmas and New Years. This was the first time he met the girls and I and we had such a fun time getting to know him better. The trip started out rough...due to a scheduled British Airways strike he almost couldn't come! Then due to bad weather his flight over got pushed back two days. But he made it Christmas Eve!

The girls loved playing with him and he was so good with them. He'd go over and pick up Cecily and hold her, even if nothing was wrong, just to hold her. How many guys do you know that would do that! For Christmas he got Sarah her own (British version) of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which I know she will LOVE someday, and a darling teddy bear for Cecily, we've named "Danny Bear".

Owen and Danny went to the UFC fight at MGM Grand last week and had a blast. The camera they took had a dead battery so no picutres of that but here are some from Danny's two weeks with us!

Danny read a ton of books to Sarah, she loved it!
